MENDON — The Mendon Board of Health unanimously maintained its private well testing standards during a September 9 meeting. Board members including Chair Alan Greenberg and Vice-Chair Tom Fichtner declined to align well testing parameters with the state's Title 5 standard, determining that comprehensive testing protects property buyers acquiring filtration system responsibilities. In related business, the board directed Inspectional Services Office Coordinator Jack McLellan to add the town's two-compartment septic tank requirement for new construction to application paperwork.
Health Agent Colleen Strapponi reported ongoing food inspections, fall festival preparations, and enforcement work on state-banned kratom products.
