Board of Health · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Mendon Board of Health approves four prior meeting minutes, advances septic system property transfer rule. Chairman Alan Greenberg, Vice-Chairman Tom Fichtner, and Member Joyce Gilmore unanimously approved minutes from January 14, January 28, February 11, and February 25 with staff corrections. The board discussed a proposed local regulation requiring septic inspections on properties transferred within families, addressing gaps that allow some structures near Lake Nipmuc to escape Title 5 state inspection requirements for generations.
Health Agent Colleen Strapponi reported a tobacco sting operation on March 10 resulted in one establishment being cited for selling tobacco to a person under 21; the violation will be reviewed at the next meeting.
