Mendon Board of Health suspends Sav-On Gas permit over underage tobacco sale. The establishment at 147 Hartford Ave East violated regulations by selling tobacco to someone under 21; owner Karim had already paid the $2,000 state fine. Board members Alan Greenberg, Tom Fichtner, and Joyce Gilmore voted unanimously to suspend the tobacco sales permit for one day on Friday, April 10th, 2026, marking the first such suspension in Board history.
The Board also discussed adding Massachusetts Comprehensive Fire Safety Code requirements to dumpster regulations following violations observed on Cape Road.
