By-laws panel charts path to May Town Meeting warrant with public noise hearing set.

General By-laws Review Committee · Meeting of February 4, 2026

Mendon's General By-laws Review Committee approved January minutes and scheduled a public Noise Bylaw hearing for February 25, with Vice-Chair Carl Hommel drafting presentation materials for February 11 review. Chair Tom Merolli will confer with town leadership on whether to propose a new Town Administrator Bylaw or instead pursue a Special Act of the Massachusetts Legislature to establish a Town Manager position similar to Upton's model. The committee is updating Chapters XI.8 (Council on Aging), XII (Lakes & Streams), XIV (Earth Removal), XV (Land Use), and XVI (Scenic Roads), with the warrant closing April 16 for the May 12 Annual Town Meeting.
