Mendon Conservation Commission issues enforcement orders halting commercial forestry on three properties. Conservation Agent Isabella Genova documented violations including unauthorized construction of forest access roads, removal of stone walls, and wetland alteration at 51 & 53 Washington Street, 153 Blackstone Street, and 164 North Avenue. The Commission unanimously approved an amended Enforcement Order requiring the property owner to hire a professional wetland scientist to delineate wetlands and evaluate impacts, along with two separate cease-and-desist orders for the Blackstone Street and North Avenue properties.
Work had continued on February 13 despite an Enforcement Order issued February 12, prompting Chair Bob Sweet to respond to the site after receiving a call from an abutter.
