Community Preservation Committee backs $60,000 water tank funding for affordable housing

MENDON — Community Preservation Committee unanimously approved $60,000 from the CPA Community Housing Account toward a $183,000 water tank replacement at Sunrise Apartments affordable housing units. Anne Mazar, CPC Chair, and committee members backed the funding after the Department of Environmental Protection identified six deficiencies and granted a 12-month extension before imposing fines. The committee also approved multiple warrant items totaling $1.7M-plus, including $126,400 for the FY27 Police Station Debt Exclusion, $14,700 to Conservation Works LLC for a passive recreation plan at Oak and Wall Farm Preserve, and three $10,000 transfers for historic preservation work.
