Conservation Commission Approves Beals & Thomas for Wetland Regulations Drafting

Conservation Commission · Meeting of March 26, 2026

Mendon Conservation Commission approves Beals & Thomas wetland regulations proposal. The commission voted 6-0 (one abstention) to hire Beals & Thomas after the firm submitted the lowest-cost proposal among three competitors and committed to reviewing other town bylaws for compliance. Conservation Agent Isabella Genova, who earned the 2026 Conservation Administrator of the Year award from MACC, recommended the firm.

The commission also unanimously green-lit Cameron Houde's Eagle Scout project to install a trail kiosk and directional signage at Inman Hill Wildlife Conservation Area, with the commission open to budget contributions, and authorized stacked-log removal from 53 Washington Street under site supervision, extending the wetland impact-plan deadline to May 14.
