Council on Aging finds ADA gaps, reviews FY27 budget
Mendon Council on Aging identified accessibility compliance gaps and approved treasurer report.
Council on Aging _ Senior Center · Meeting of February 11, 2026
Mendon Council on Aging identified accessibility compliance gaps and approved treasurer report. An inspection on Feb. 3 by the Center for Living and Working and CMRPC found the Senior Center non-compliant with federal ADA standards for grab bars, bathroom mirrors, coffee/tea table height, and wheelchair access to the stair lift. The board reviewed a level-services FY27 budget that adds a new building maintenance line and decreases overall spending due to lower van maintenance costs.
Director Amy Wilson-Kent reported on numerous spring programs including AARP tax assistance, cooking and photography classes, and caregiver training. The board assigned Carol Kotros, Dona Son and Peg Nogueira to plan a May Volunteer Appreciation event. Multiple grants including stroke awareness programming and IBM software licenses are pending.
