MENDON — The Mendon Historic District Commission deferred action on three proposed bylaws, covering Scenic Roads, Stone Walls, and Trees, until at least the November town meeting. Chair Deborah Flanagan and six other members, meeting remotely, discussed ongoing preservation work at Town Hall, including window and gutter restoration projects, and authorized staff to seek quotes for painting the Cook Shop with historically appropriate materials and relocating the Weights and Measures Cabinet. The commission also agreed to pursue expert contractor advice on addressing basement water infiltration in historic buildings through French drains, sump pumps, and period-appropriate remediation methods.
