Select Board approves $24,000 budget transfer for computer maintenance.

MENDON — Select Board and Finance Committee hold joint April 8 budget session. Finance Committee Chair Michael Krager led a unanimous vote to transfer $24,000 from reserves to computer maintenance contracts. Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School Superintendent Anthony Steele reported a teachers' contract yielding zero percent COLA and $2.1 million in three-year savings; Mendon-Upton Regional School District Superintendent Maureen Cohen presented a $4.1 million fiscal year 2027 gap driven by health insurance, salaries, and special education costs, cautioning that rejection of an override would trigger staffing cuts and increased class sizes.

Town Administrator Jeremy Stull reviewed stabilization fund mechanics and municipal cost pressures including wage and health insurance increases.
