MENDON — Select Board approves two police officers and affirms town administrator's contract. The board unanimously appointed Joseph Thompson and Harrison Quartarone (starting January 26 at $1,193.47 weekly) to the Mendon Police Department, and also unanimously approved the Town Administrator's contract pending legal review. The board unanimously adopted the Five-Year Land Use Program after a public hearing, which prioritizes open space access, recreational expansion, and natural resource protection.
The board unanimously accepted $5,375 in Food Pantry donations and $568.25 in Council of Aging gifts. Discussion of a proposed US Bicycle Route 1 through Mendon was postponed pending legal counsel meetings on a town support letter.
