Select Board reviews budget presentations for five town departments

MENDON — Select Board reviews four department budgets in joint Finance Committee session. The Council on Aging Director presented plans for expanded community services and volunteer opportunities alongside ADA compliance work. The Town Clerk outlined increasing election responsibilities and proposed converting the Town Clerk position from elected to appointed.
Parks Commissioner Dan Byer highlighted volunteer expansion and building maintenance needs, with portions of the Parks budget being transferred to the Highway budget. The Board held the joint meeting to advance the FY27 budget process ahead of scheduled Finance Committee follow-ups.
