Finance Committee · Meeting of October 15, 2026
Mendon's Finance Committee recommended a $50,000 study of a three-building municipal project estimated at $12 million to $13 million. Town Administrator Jeremy told the panel free cash was certified at $2 million, higher than his $1.8 million projection, and that the committee also backed $582,000 for stabilization, $118,000 for senior center upgrades, $100,000 for roads and $50,000 for ADA improvements. The committee tabled a supplemental appropriations article after an $80,000 discrepancy surfaced in new growth revenue estimates, which Jeremy said he could not yet explain: "I kind of have to get to the bottom of it because I don't really know what makes up the difference." Vice Chair Carl Hommel urged the Council on Aging and library to prepare itemized "wish lists" for future budgets.
Warrant-related votes passed unanimously by roll call, with the Select Board to revisit the revenue gap October 21.
