Historic Commission · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Mendon's Historic Commission pressed a church representative over an unpermitted demolition at 11 Cape Road. Chair Dan Byron said "it appears that a building was demolished at 11 Cape Road with no building permits and in violation of the town's demolition delayed bylaw." The church representative said the structure had been undermined by a tree root and said she believed the contractor, Blueprint Site Solutions LLC of Foxborough, would pull permits before work began; the company billed $7,500 for the job. Members said the contractor, licensed only since 2025, "has never pulled a permit for anything" in town records and said they would send the church a letter on the permitting process.

The panel separately discussed asking that a future RFP for the town-owned Paddock Property, 41.5 acres slated for six to ten affordable housing units, require preservation of an 1850s barn's architectural style.
