Historic District Commission · Meeting of October 26, 2026
Mendon's Historic Commission and Local Historic District Commission cleared a backlog of unapproved minutes and discussed preservation options for two at-risk properties. Members unanimously approved Historic Commission minutes from October 21 and December 9, 2024, plus Historic Commission and Local Historic District Commission minutes from September 21, 2026, after one member said, "I watched all the videos and we didn't" vote on several. The panels discussed funding a structural study of the 1745 Ammidon Tavern after architect Stacy Spies reported finding "two foundations, one on the inside, one on the outside." Members also flagged 23 Uxbridge Road, where owner Jimmy Quirk "is just now filing with the planning board," which members believe is for a gas station, and asked a staffer named Dylan to research relocating the house for affordable housing.
