Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Mendon Select Board enters closed session over a lawsuit and police contract talks. Members voted 4-0 by roll call to go into executive session under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(3), to discuss litigation strategy in Fulton, Bailey, Ricci et al. v. Town of Ashland et al. and collective bargaining on an amended police memorandum of agreement, with no return to open session.

Earlier, the board unanimously reappointed Kathy Schofield to a three-year Historical Commission term after discovering her prior appointment "was never done," and reappointed a Zoning Board of Appeals alternate. The board also declared September 27 Senior Citizen Day, naming Justine Sotrick Brewer 2026 Senior Citizen of the Year, and heard that early voting begins August 22 at Town Hall.
