Community Preservation Commission · Meeting of June 2, 2026

Mendon's Community Preservation Commission weighed spending $7,000 to clear title on a tax-delinquent trail parcel. Chair Anne Maysar said the 10-acre Pleasant Street property, last tied to an owner named Silas Taft, owes roughly $160,000 in back taxes and could link Meadowbrook Woods, a town forest parcel and an existing easement into one trail if the town can resolve ownership. No vote was taken; members planned a site walk before revisiting the item.

The commission did vote 5-0 by roll call to close an Inman Pond phragmites-removal account, shifting its remaining $15.66 balance to the general fund, and approved its April and May minutes unanimously. Members separately discussed grouping routine Community Preservation Act warrant articles into a Town Meeting "consent calendar," after acknowledging a recent warrant failed to clearly label a budget override: "That will never happen again," one member said.
