Mendon library board backs director's proposal to close library on July 3. Director Andrew Jenrich proposed closing the library Friday, July 3; the board unanimously approved April meeting minutes and endorsed the closure plan May 28. The Selectboard partially approved the library's budget requests: denied were two additional Monday hours and $2,500 in programming funds, though a new $2,500 furniture line was approved.
At 10 months into the fiscal year, the library had spent 78.6 percent of its budget, leaving approximately $11,700 remaining.
