Taft Library board discusses state aid, rectory renovation plans

MENDON — Taft Library board plans rectory renovation, reviews state aid uses and funding. The board discussed the library's approximately $80,000 state aid fund, which receives roughly $8,000 annually and is mandated for library operations, currently covering four hours of weekly staffing. A rectory subgroup will reconvene with the Council on Aging and Selectboard to plan renovations, with funding sources including debt relief projected for 2028, naming rights sales, Community Preservation Act funds, and Friends of the Library fundraisers.
Summer reading registration begins June 16.
