Taft Library Trustees examine naming request; seek usage metrics

MENDON — The Taft Library Board of Trustees unanimously approved February minutes and directed Director Andrew Jenrich to develop usage metrics supporting a request to expand library hours beyond 35 per week. The budget presentation to the Select Board and Finance Committee highlighted a goal to hire a full-time Adult and Teen Services librarian with information technology knowledge. The library has spent 64.2 percent of its annual budget at the eight-month mark.

The board advanced discussion on renaming the library after former librarian Lorna Rhodes, with Trustee Alison Chu agreeing to distribute relevant 2024 meeting minutes for review.
