Select Board · Meeting of July 3, 2026
Mendon Select Board unanimously approves slate of appointments, ADA plan, and early voting schedule at July 3 meeting. The four-member board, Brian Morford was absent, reappointed Murphy, Hessey, Toomey, and Lehane, LLP as town counsel at $210 per hour for general legal services, with attorney Kate Connolly serving as the primary partner, and appointed Tyler Abbott to the Finance Committee's longstanding vacant seat. Town Administrator Jeremy Stoll presented a 200-plus-page ADA self-evaluation and transition plan produced through a grant with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, covering more than a dozen town-owned and public properties, and estimated aggregate remediation costs at roughly $100,000.
Stoll projected approximately $1.5 million in free cash for the fall, driven in part by $274,000 in investment earnings against a $50,000 budget, and recommended targeting the last week of October for a Special Town Meeting following free cash certification. The board directed Stoll to issue certified warning letters before any fines are levied under the town's unregistered vehicle bylaw, citing $25-per-vehicle civil penalties, and to explore folding enforcement into the existing parking ticket program.
