Parks Commission promotes three summer staff to senior counselor

Parks Commission · Meeting of July 28, 2026

MENDON — Parks Commission promotes three summer staff, approves Mock Signing event. The Mendon Parks Commission unanimously promoted three seasonal summer staff members to senior counselor positions at $16 per hour retroactive to their first dates in 2026: Danielle Chrabaszcz, Margaret Boates, and Rylie Loftus. Director Dan Byer recommended the promotions following a loss of senior counselors after orientation.

The Commission also unanimously approved the August 2nd Mock Signing of the Declaration of Independence event as a municipal event and waived all associated facility fees. Discussion focused on summer program challenges including limited indoor facility space during school renovations and low enrollment in Tennis in the Park, with potential to shift focus to pickleball.
