Planning Board · Meeting of October 19, 2026

Mendon Planning Board unanimously approved a special permit for an auto repair shop at 149 Uxbridge Road, waiving site plan review. Applicant Max Meager, co-owner of Mobile Auto Works Corporation with Michael Schmarco, told the board the company would use a two-bay layout with quieter air compressors to limit noise, saying "the noise is really minimal to begin with." Member Barry Iadarola noted the building already had an oil-water separator, trench drains and a holding tank from a prior automotive tenant, which the board cited in waiving the detailed review. Members separately discussed a pending bylaw update, an upcoming fee schedule revision, and coordination with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission on subdivision rules, plus a future special permit hearing expected for a proposed gas station across from an existing one in town.
