Conservation Commission approves tree removal, addresses major wetland violation

Conservation Commission · Meeting of June 25, 2026

Mendon Conservation Commission approves tree removal, addresses major wetland violation. Chair Robert Sweet and the Commission unanimously approved tree removal at 90 Blackstone Street and a Certificate of Compliance for 40 Kinsley Lane. The Commission addressed a significant enforcement order at 51 and 53 Washington Street, where consultant Desheng Wang reported 29,896 square feet of buffer zone wetland alteration; nearly six times the 5,000 square foot local permit limit.

Because no forest cutting plan was filed and the commercial loggers lacked forester licenses, the work does not qualify for forestry exemptions.
