MENDON — Conservation Commission assesses $4,500 fine for early construction start at Pleasant Street properties. Work at 27 and 29 Pleasant Street began on July 7 before required pre-construction steps were completed, violating seven conditions in the Department of Environmental Protection order. Vice-Chair Carl Hommel moved to levy the $4,500 citation, assessed at $150 per condition violation, passing unanimously.
The commission issued an enforcement order with a cease-and-desist provision requiring a professional wildlife biologist to supervise site restoration and silt-fence installation before work can resume.
